The Origin Story

Albert Lucio, Jr. carved his first 5 gallon bucket of sand in 2005 when a friend told him about sculpting event on the beach.  One week later Albert had recruited his family for their first ever sand competition at C-101’s C-Sculptures. It was a grueling 25 hour straight-through-the-night event, which they were overwhelmingly under prepared for.  When all was said and done Albert had a severe sunburn and dehydration that required a doctor’s visit. But Albert and his family found a new passion to add to their list of “things they do.” Albert, Jr. has since become an award winning sculptor competing in open, solo and duo competitions from amateur to master categories in Texas and across the U.S.

When Albert is not sculpting, he’s doing stuff like working at his job, mowing his lawn, showing his dog card tricks, and cooking dinner for his girlfriend.
